The story

It is part of a farm located in Basilicata, which has been organic since 2002.

Some valuable varieties of walnut are grown here:

The “Chandler” , highly appreciated for its delicate and pleasantly almondy flavour, large size, very easy shelling (just your fingers), high kernel yield and clear and pleasant “natural” colour.

The Hartley walnut, also characterised by a medium-large size, is distinguished by its sweet and pleasant flavour (and by a nice characteristic: it is the only walnut that can stand upright).

Franquette, an excellent variety with a medium-large and slightly wrinkled shell, of high quality, slightly elongated and tending towards light, pleasant and sweet flavour, and good shelling yield.

The walnut groves are made with a 7x7 and 6x7 layout, avoiding extreme forcing, even if more productive. This, together with the particular southern-hilly climate, contributes to the containment of pathologies, in compliance with organic specifications.

All the processes, from harvesting to final packaging, are carried out in the shortest possible time and all within the Organic Company, obtaining a very short supply chain, with cost and transport containment, to the full advantage of the end customer.
